The house in Stromboli: authentic Aeolian charm

Casa Erica is a traditional Strombolian home, built before 1930 and carefully renovated in the 1970s while preserving its original character. The restoration followed the Strombolian architectural style, using traditional Aeolian materials to maintain its authenticity.

Why Casa Erica feels different from modern homes? Here some reasons:

• Many of the original walls remain intact, keeping the house true to its roots;
• Volcanic stone elements have been preserved, providing exceptional thermal insulation;
• Unlike newer buildings, Casa Erica naturally stays cooler, offering refreshing comfort even in summer. Despite this, we've installed air conditioning in every bedroom for added comfort.

The floor plan: a traditional Aeolian layout

Casa Erica follows the typical Aeolian architectural style, with interconnected rooms that all open onto the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea. The terrace extends across the entire house, providing a shaded retreat thanks to cane coverings, which allow fresh air to circulate naturally.

The twin room (CD) measures about 10 square meters and can be set up as a twin or double room. A specific page is dedicated to the twin room.

The double room (in the plan CM) is very large: 5 meters x 4.65 means about 23 square meters: a specific page is dedicated to the master bedroom.

The largest room (CS), which we have always called "camera del soppalco" ("the mezzanine room"), measures around 30 square meters and from its mezzanine leads to the beautiful panoramic terrace above. The bathroom is compact but functional, stylish, and fully renovated in 2017.
