The house in Stromboli
Casa Erica is a typical house of Stromboli (built before 1930), renovated in the '70ies following the style of Stromboli and using traditional aeolian materials: most of the walls are still the original ones, and the original parts made of volcanic stones preserved a wonderful thermal inertia: the house is naturally fresher than the new buildings on the island. Also the plan is typical of the Aeolian Island; the rooms are one by the other and all have access to the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea. The terrace runs throught the whole house and it is shaded by canes, letting the air pleasantly seep.
The twin room (CD) measures about 10 square meters and can be prepared as double room. A specific page is dedicated to the twin room.
The double room (in the plan CM) is very large: 5 meters x 4.65 means about 23 square meters: a specific page is dedicated to the master room.
The largest room (CS), which we have always called "camera del soppalco"("the mezzanine room"), measures around 30 square meters and from its mezzanine leads to the beautiful panoramic terrace above. This typically Aeolian room, which has been refurbished in February 2015, has a wood-beamed ceiling. Photos and details can be found on the page of the Mezzanine bedroom.
The kitchen is very large: it has a big table able to receive 6, and sometimes also 8, people. Further informations about the eat-in kitchen by clicking here.
The bathroom is not so large, but it is practical, beautiful and totally new (completely renovated in 2017).
